Denova Apricot kernel oil is made from apricot kernels obtained from fruit canners of the Western Cape in South Africa. These kernels are collected and dried and the cold pressed method is used to extract a very attractive golden coloured oil. This is a relatively new oil and little research has been done in respect of its culinary attributes, but it is high in mono unsaturated fats and rates with Avocado, Macadamia and Olive oils in this category. Apricot Kernel oil is cholesterol-free.
Research is underway to establish the effect of this oil in cancer retardation.
Apricot Kernel oil can be used in cooking where the delightful light almond like flavour would enhanced the recipe.
